The AtLiVe project (Atlas of the Literature of Medieval Veneto) proposes a digital literary Atlas, an original and innovative open-access instrument using Romance literary and historical documentation, to aid the study of the history and the geography of medieval Venetian culture, from the 12th century to Petrarch’s arrival in Padova in the second half of the 14th century. The digital architecture of this project will consist of a reticular structure of single and detailed data sheets, concerning, in this first phase, texts and manuscripts of the medieval Romance literary domain (texts, authors, scribes, manuscript tradition, material philology, linguistics). Each data sheet will be processed through a tag marking system aimed at situating the entry in a historical and geographical context, as accurately as possible: a refined query system is elaborated, responding to the complexity of medieval reality. This modular structure will be able to host contents of several complementary disciplines over time, in order to link together a wide range of research fields.
